Ritual Overview
The Flame Call is a dedicated invocation of the Fire element, calling upon the Salamanders — the spirits of fire who dwell in the flame, the spark, and the heat of the sun. Fire is the most active and transformative of the elements, capable of purifying, destroying, and creating in a single act. This ritual harnesses Fire for specific purposes: burning away obstacles, igniting passion and creativity, and energizing the will to action.
The centerpiece of the ritual is a controlled fire — ideally a small cauldron fire, a fireplace, or a large candle that can be safely fed with offerings. The practitioner begins by establishing a respectful relationship with the flame, observing its dance and learning its language. Fire is alive and responsive; its crackles, pops, and movements carry meaning that the practitioner must learn to read.
Once the connection is established, the practitioner feeds the fire with herbs and resins corresponding to their intention — cinnamon for passion, frankincense for purification, rosemary for protection — and speaks their petition to the spirits of flame. The smoke carries the intention directly to the Salamander kings, who respond with the heat of transformation. The practitioner may feel a surge of energy, a burning in the throat or chest, and an irresistible urge to act.

Thank and Extinguish
Thank the Salamanders and the spirit of Fire. Extinguish the fire safely with sand or by smothering (never water on a fire you have charged — it creates a harsh energetic shock). Let the candles burn out naturally.
