Thelemic Horus Invocation (Liber XLVI)
The central Thelemic invocation calling upon Ra-Hoor-Khuit, the crowned and conquering child of the New Aeon, to establish the practitioner in their True Will.
Ritual Overview
The Thelemic Horus Invocation is drawn from Liber XLVI (The Key of the Mysteries) and the Stele of Revealing, which serves as the foundational revelation of the Book of the Law. This invocation calls upon Ra-Hoor-Khuit — the martial and solar aspect of Horus, the god of the New Aeon — to establish the practitioner in their True Will and to annihilate all obstacles to that Will.
Unlike gentler invocations, the Horus Invocation is a declaration of war — war against the limitations of the old aeon, against the forces that oppose individual sovereignty, and against the practitioner's own self-imposed restrictions. The practitioner invokes the crowned and conquering child with the full power of the Stele's hieroglyphs, the names of power from Liber AL, and the martial energy of the eagle-headed god.
The ritual is performed with the practitioner standing in the Sign of the Enterer — arms extended forward, body tense, one foot forward — while vibrating the divine names with the full force of their being. The response of Horus is felt as a surge of power, a blazing heat in the spine, and an overwhelming certainty of purpose. The practitioner becomes, for the duration of the invocation, a channel for the New Aeon's force.
Ritual Steps
The Adoration of the Sun
Face east at sunrise (or at noon if sunrise is not possible). Light the red and gold candles. Perform the Star Ruby as a preliminary. Then stand with arms raised and recite: "Hail unto thee, Ra-Hoor-Khuit, who art the Sun at the zenith of his power!"
10 minutes
Visualization
The eastern sky blazes with the golden light of Ra-Hoor-Khuit, and a figure of hawk-headed majesty appears in the heart of the sun.
The Invocation of the Stele
Hold the image of the Stele before you. Vibrate the names from the Stele: "Ra-Hoor-Khuit, Hadit, Nuit, Hoor-paar-kraat." With each name, make the Sign of the Enterer (thrust arms forward, tense the body) followed by the Sign of Silence (thumb to lips).
10 minutes
Visualization
The image of the Stele comes alive — the figures move, the hieroglyphs glow, and the winged disc above them spreads its wings.
The Declaration of the Will
Stand in the Sign of the Enterer. Declare your True Will aloud: "I am the Heart of the Heartless World. I am the Star at which all Suns gaze. I am the Eye in the Triangle. My Will is done in the Universe." Adapt these words to your specific Will.
5 minutes
Visualization
Your words manifest as golden fire from your mouth, and Ra-Hoor-Khuit descends into your body. You become the god. Your Will becomes absolute.
The Seal of the New Aeon
Trace the sigil of the New Aeon — the circle with the central point and the radiating wings — in the air with the dagger. Vibrate: "ABRAHADABRA" — the eleven-letter word of the Aeon. Feel the power of the New Aeon flowing through you.
5 minutes
Visualization
The sigil blazes in the air before you, a wheel of fire and wings, marking you as a vessel of the New Aeon.
The Silence After
Make the Sign of Silence. Stand in stillness and feel the power settle into your bones. The god is within you now. Ring the bell once to mark the completion. The invocation is done, but the presence of Horus remains with you.
5 minutes
Visualization
The blazing energies subside, but a kernel of solar fire remains at your heart, a permanent spark of Ra-Hoor-Khuit that will fuel your True Will.
Warnings & Ethics
This invocation channels one of the most potent forces of the New Aeon. It is not for casual practice. Study Liber AL vel Legis thoroughly before attempting. The power of Horus is not gentle.
