Vessel of Brass Sealing

The Ars Goetia, the first book of the Lesser Key of Solomon, opens with a legend rather than an instruction: it tells how King Solomon, having power over disobedient spirits, bound them by his wisdom into a vessel of brass, sealed the vessel with his own magical seal of surpassing craft, and had it cast into a deep lake in Babylon — a permanent containment for forces too troublesome to leave loose in the world.

This working is a deliberate modern adaptation of that legend, not a literal spirit-binding — the app treats the seventy-two Goetic spirits themselves elsewhere, and no attempt is made here to bind or trap an actual entity. Instead, the vessel becomes a technique for something every practitioner eventually needs: a way to seal away a persistent negative pattern, a compulsion, or a toxic influence that has resisted lighter banishing and containment work, and to put it somewhere it can no longer reach you.

A small brass or metal box stands in for Solomon's vessel. Into it goes a written naming of the pattern to be sealed, and onto its lid goes a personal seal — a sigil of your own devising, drawn once and never repeated, that marks the container as closed by your authority alone. Once sealed, the box is either buried in earth away from your home, or kept deliberately closed in a place you do not often go, its purpose being distance and permanence rather than daily engagement. Where the Triangle of Art holds something briefly for examination, the Vessel of Brass is for what you have already examined and decided you are finished carrying.
