Scorpion's Sting
A targeted cursing that uses the venomous essence of the scorpion archetype to deliver a precise, painful strike against an enemy's weakest point.
Ritual Overview
The Scorpion's Sting is a focused and precise curse drawn from the traditions of the Middle East and North Africa, where the scorpion is both feared and respected for its ability to deliver devastating force from a small body. This curse does not seek to destroy the target utterly — it seeks to wound them at their most vulnerable point, delivering a sting that will be remembered long after the physical effects have faded.
The working centers on a scorpion sigil drawn with a mixture of red ochre and venomous intention. The sigil is not the scorpion itself but the idea of the scorpion — its patience, its precision, its devastating strike. The practitioner spends significant time meditating on the target's weaknesses, identifying the single point of vulnerability that, when struck, will cause the maximum disruption to their harmful activities.
Once the weakness is identified, the scorpion sigil is activated through a combination of focused will and breath. The practitioner then visualizes the scorpion crawling through the astral plane, finding the target, and delivering a single, precise sting to the identified weakness. The curse is complete in that single moment — the practitioner does not dwell on it afterward, as the scorpion does not watch its victim die. It stings and moves on.
Ritual Steps
Meditate on the Weakness
Spend 30 minutes in meditation on the target. Do not focus on your anger — focus on their structure. Where are they vulnerable? Reputation? Relationships? Finances? Health? Identify the single weakest point. Do not proceed until you are certain.
30 minutes
Visualization
The target appears before you as a figure of light and shadow. You observe them dispassionately, watching where the shadows are deepest — those are their vulnerabilities. One shines brightest with vulnerability.
Draw the Scorpion Sigil
Mix the red ochre with a drop of your saliva or water into a paste. On the parchment, draw the scorpion sigil — a geometric scorpion with its tail curved to point at the target's weakness. Trace each line with the obsidian shard after inking.
15 minutes
Visualization
The scorpion sigil glows with dark red light as you trace it. The tail pulses, and the stinger at its tip points unerringly at the vulnerability you identified.
Charge the Stinger
Hold the obsidian shard over the stinger of the drawn sigil. Breathe your intention into the shard, then place it on the sigil's stinger point. Visualize the shard becoming the stinger — cold, sharp, and filled with venom.
10 minutes
Visualization
The obsidian shard sinks into the parchment, fusing with the scorpion's tail. The sigil becomes three-dimensional, the scorpion now alive on the page.
Release the Scorpion
Fold the parchment around the obsidian shard. Light the black candle and hold the folded packet in the flame. As it catches fire, say: "Go, scorpion. Find your mark. Strike once. Strike true. Your work is done." Release the packet into the cauldron and watch it burn completely.
5 minutes
Visualization
As the parchment burns, the scorpion sigil leaps from the flames as a living creature of black light. It scuttles through the astral currents toward the target, moving with deadly purpose.
Let Go Completely
Do not think about the target or the curse again. The scorpion is released; your continued attention feeds it unnecessarily. Scatter the ashes to the wind and go about your day. The scorpion will strike when the moment is optimal.
Ongoing
Visualization
The scorpion fades from your awareness as it merges with the astral background. It waits. It watches. It will sting when the target least expects it.
Warnings & Ethics
This curse is precise and surgical. It will find the target's weakest point. If you have misidentified their weakness or if they have not actually harmed you, the precision of this spell can lead to karmic backlash.
